Well we are finally here in the Philippines.  Twenty six hours after leaving home.  We arrived on Wednesday  the 5th.  It was quit a ride.  That 15 hours from LA to Hong Kong sitting my legs were swollen.  At the Hong Kong Airport a older Chinese lady gave us her seat, so Bob and I could sit together.  And then she went and sat on the floor over by the wall. I felt so bad but she would not let us tell her no.  I wanted to get a picture of her, but I wasn't able to do so.  I will never forget her. We have not had a computer until tonight.  The engineer at the temple came and got us set up.  We arrived at about 3:00 pm and within 10 minutes the recorder from the temple came and said that they wanted to set us apart in 30 minutes.  And could we be there.  And we were at the temple at 5:30 the next morning.  We have learned that this temple is run a lot different than the SLC temple.  But everyone is so sweet.  We have been so tired since we got here.  I hope we will get over that soon.  It is only 6:00 pm and we are about ready for bed.  It is hard going to the temple everyday.  It is really hard work. They are so short handed.  So we are working hard.  We have folded a lot of clothing.  But as we learn more we will be are able to do more.  Much has happened in the two days  that we have been here. I past off everything with my trainer today and will be working the first session in the temple tomorrow.  Now I can start really being of help to them.  Three couples just went home in the last few weeks.   This apartment is not like home, but it's OK!   We miss you all. We are loving the people already.  Bob had his first rice cake today. One of the sister in the temple made them for us and the other couple that came with us. So much has happened in just a couple of days.  There is a really sweet spirit here.  We had our first cockroach this morning.  He was with me in the shower.  And I went running out of the bathroom to get Bob to kill it.  The neighbor says he only gets about one a week, that he sees.  So that was our one for the week I guess.  There are a few things we will need to get us to.

  1. Dear Ann and Bob,
So glad you have finally arrived. We will be excited to follow all your activities including CHASING BUGS. Hopefully in a few weeks you will be more adjusted to serving in the temple every day and you will be more rested. Love to you both. Gerald and Jackie
