I haven't been able to get in to our blog since Jan. so now I am going to try to remember all the things that we have done since then and things that have happened since then .
One of the first things that we did is we went to Pagsanjan Falls this is a spectacular canoe ride to an impressive waterfall. There are young men there called boat men they are very strong men who at  certain points in the river have to jump out of the boat and drag it through the rocky rapids in the river. The ride up the river is beautiful it is lined with thick vegetation some saw monkeys in the trees we all saw beautiful birds at about half way up the river there was a rest point with  people there trying to sell all kinds of stuff ( like everywhere in the Philippines) buy the time we got to the falls we were all quite wet and getting our old bodies in and out of the canoes was something to see. They put hard hats on us and gave us some plastic to keep us dry (ha-ha) then they steered us into the falls what a experience the water came crashing down on us     we couldn't see any thing but we did get really wet but it was fun. After it was all over I looked up at the river roaring down over the edge of the cliff and thought what if a rock or a piece of wood was in the river ouch that would hurt. They do things here that they could never do in the States. On the way home we stopped at a little village where there was a lot of men making wood carvings it was interesting watching them work with just hand tools. And of course there was things for sale brother Morby bought some interesting things. Ann has been on me about the wood spoon that we have in our apt. it is made for right hand people so we bought some spoons there. It was good to get out of Manila and see the country side . It is different here the men think nothing of walking a few steps of the street and relieving themselves or you see cars going out around a car parked car off the side of the street and you realize that he is doing the same thing.
